It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We saw an incredible range of wildlife, including Kevin, the famous \u201clonely rhino,\u201d as well as various antelope, birds, zebras, giraffes, chimpanzees, and monkeys. One of the absolute highlights was walking with lions\u2014an experience so surreal that our family and friends thought the videos were AI-generated. The trip itself was wonderfully varied. We stayed in a beautiful villa and several charming lodges, rode quads and horses along the beach, and took multiple boat trips\u2014on the Gambia River, on a river in Senegal where we enjoyed a delicious fish dinner, and along the coast of Guinea-Bissau. We also visited remarkable UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the stone circles in The Gambia. Moe and Pa were an outstanding team. Both speak fluent English, and Pa\u2019s German is remarkably good\u2014especially considering he only spent six months in Germany and never studied the language formally. Their knowledge of the region was extensive and insightful, and Pa is an excellent and very reliable driver. Despite some unpredictable traffic situations caused by other drivers, we always felt completely safe. What stood out to me in particular was their balance as guides. I have often found guides either overly talkative or too focused on minor details, but this was never the case here. They were informative, engaging, and always pleasant to be around throughout the entire four-day tour. Equally important, Moe and Pa handled the often complex border crossings and numerous checkpoints with ease and professionalism, including situations where bribes are sometimes expected. Everything was managed smoothly and transparently. The trip was also exceptional value for money. We were never asked to cover any unexpected costs, which is quite rare, and frankly I am not sure how they managed to offer such a high level of service at this price point. In summary, we had an outstanding experience. We saw incredible things, enjoyed unique and adventurous activities, had a lot of fun, and felt safe at all times. Having traveled to 116 countries and taken many tours, I very rarely give a perfect rating\u2014yet Moe and Pa absolutely deserve it. Vi bookede nogle ture gennem rejsebureauet, som ogs\u00e5 var udem\u00e6rket. Vi stod en aften og skulle akut bruge et sdkort til vores kamera og havde ingen anelse om hvor man kunne f\u00e5 dette. Dette f\u00f8rte os til at m\u00f8de en fantastisk lokal ved navn Modou, som trykt fandt en taxa til os og k\u00f8rte med til nabo byen, hvor han vidste at der var en butik som stadigv\u00e6k havde \u00e5bent. Han s\u00f8rgede b\u00e5de for forhandlingen med taxa og i butik og for at vi hele tiden f\u00f8lte os trykke ved turen (sent om aftenen). Modou endte med at bidrage med andre ture i l\u00f8bet af ferien og havde altid fuldt fokus p\u00e5 os og at vi havde nogle gode ture. Vi har stadig kontakt med Modou i dag og skulle vi igen komme til Gambia, ville vi helt sikkert bruge Modou som guide igen. Vi kan klart anbefale ham, hvis man vil have nogle gode oplevelser i Gambia. Som en bonus kunne man ogs\u00e5 tydeligt m\u00e6rke forskel p\u00e5 priserne i hans selskab. Han s\u00f8rgede altid for at man som turist ikke skulle betale overpriser. Kunne blive ved med at komme med positive oplevelser og det lyder m\u00e5ske for godt til at v\u00e6re sandt. Geen idee wat we konden verwachten en met enige gezonde spanning besloten we een locale gids in te schakelen. Dit was een erg goed idee. Zonder gids wordt je in The Gambia namelijk erg veel aangesproken, tot zeer vervelend en ongemakkelijk aan toe. Het is niet veilig als toerist alleen de straten te verkennen. Dit is met een gids niet het geval en hij kan je dus of zelf, of samen met een chauffeur meenemen naar en vertellen over de leukste en meest inspirerende plekken van het land. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We saw an incredible range of wildlife, including Kevin, the famous \u201clonely rhino,\u201d as well as various antelope, birds, zebras, giraffes, chimpanzees, and monkeys. One of the absolute highlights was walking with lions\u2014an experience so surreal that our family and friends thought the videos were AI-generated. The trip itself was wonderfully varied. We stayed in a beautiful villa and several charming lodges, rode quads and horses along the beach, and took multiple boat trips\u2014on the Gambia River, on a river in Senegal where we enjoyed a delicious fish dinner, and along the coast of Guinea-Bissau. We also visited remarkable UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the stone circles in The Gambia. Moe and Pa were an outstanding team. Both speak fluent English, and Pa\u2019s German is remarkably good\u2014especially considering he only spent six months in Germany and never studied the language formally. Their knowledge of the region was extensive and insightful, and Pa is an excellent and very reliable driver. Despite some unpredictable traffic situations caused by other drivers, we always felt completely safe. What stood out to me in particular was their balance as guides. I have often found guides either overly talkative or too focused on minor details, but this was never the case here. They were informative, engaging, and always pleasant to be around throughout the entire four-day tour. Equally important, Moe and Pa handled the often complex border crossings and numerous checkpoints with ease and professionalism, including situations where bribes are sometimes expected. Everything was managed smoothly and transparently. The trip was also exceptional value for money. We were never asked to cover any unexpected costs, which is quite rare, and frankly I am not sure how they managed to offer such a high level of service at this price point. In summary, we had an outstanding experience. We saw incredible things, enjoyed unique and adventurous activities, had a lot of fun, and felt safe at all times. Having traveled to 116 countries and taken many tours, I very rarely give a perfect rating\u2014yet Moe and Pa absolutely deserve it. Dette f\u00f8rte os til at m\u00f8de en fantastisk lokal ved navn Modou, som trykt fandt en taxa til os og k\u00f8rte med til nabo byen, hvor han vidste at der var en butik som stadigv\u00e6k havde \u00e5bent. Han s\u00f8rgede b\u00e5de for forhandlingen med taxa og i butik og for at vi hele tiden f\u00f8lte os trykke ved turen (sent om aftenen). Modou endte med at bidrage med andre ture i l\u00f8bet af ferien og havde altid fuldt fokus p\u00e5 os og at vi havde nogle gode ture. Vi har stadig kontakt med Modou i dag og skulle vi igen komme til Gambia, ville vi helt sikkert bruge Modou som guide igen. Vi kan klart anbefale ham, hvis man vil have nogle gode oplevelser i Gambia. Som en bonus kunne man ogs\u00e5 tydeligt m\u00e6rke forskel p\u00e5 priserne i hans selskab. Geen idee wat we konden verwachten en met enige gezonde spanning besloten we een locale gids in te schakelen. Dit was een erg goed idee. Zonder gids wordt je in The Gambia namelijk erg veel aangesproken, tot zeer vervelend en ongemakkelijk aan toe. Het is niet veilig als toerist alleen de straten te verkennen. Dit is met een gids niet het geval en hij kan je dus of zelf, of samen met een chauffeur meenemen naar en vertellen over de leukste en meest inspirerende plekken van het land.
